WordPresscom unveils enhanced wp admin experience for creator entrepreneur plans

As Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg teased in a January blog post , our team at WordPress.com is working hard to improve the experience for our developers. Improving what you see on your dashboard when you log into WordPress.com is one of our biggest goals. Today, we're excited to introduce a more powerful wp-admin experience (if you know, you know) coming soon to all Creator and Entrepreneur plan sites. Read on to find out how to get early access.

Reviving the classic experience

For many years, the default view for WordPress.com users has been an upgraded, friendlier version of the classic WordPress experience (available by adding /wp-admin to the end of your site's URL). Around the office we call this interface “Calypso”. It offers neat post/page management, easy profile edits, built-in tips and resources to start or grow your site, and more.

Empowering power users

WordPress is known for its powerful, built-in admin experience. The classic wp-admin interface is the foundation of countless high-end websites worldwide due to its flexibility and extensibility.

Our mission here is to empower our power users, those with Creator and Entrepreneur plans, to get the most out of WordPress. This update promises:

A look into the future

While this initial launch is for Creator and Business subscribers, our commitment extends to all WordPress.com users. We're excited to expand these capabilities to everyone in the future.
